10 Questions for 10 Years.

2010. 10 years into the 21st century, IAM’s Encounter 10 will look onward to the next 10 years. Asking 10 questions that will impact our movement and culture throughout the coming decade, we will cast vision for where we can be and what kind of cultural impact we can make.

Over the coming weeks, we will be introducing these important 10 questions. Our exciting roster of speakers includes Dan Siedell, Roberta Ahmanson, Jacob Marshall, Makoto Fujimura, Matt Heard, Mark Chambers, and others.

From March 4-6, 2010, with spring budding in New York City, our movement will gather at the newly renovated Great Hall at Cooper Union, a place that has housed weighty ideas, thinkers and movements since 1858. Nestled next to the stunning new Cooper Union Main Building in Greenwich Village, the Great Hall will be our home for each of the 10 questions.

When not gathered there, we take to the streets. Carefully selected coffee shops, restaurants, galleries, museums, and clubs will serve as creative zones for engagement. In partnership with The Curator, Encounter 10 will move out into the cultural hub that is New York City to encounter one another and explore, discover and enjoy the innumerable cultural artifacts that ae already part of the world that ought to be. For one weekend, our movement will come together from the four corners of the world to reconnect with old friends and build new relationships that spur each of us to pursue our vocation more fully.

When we gather, we see a glimpse of the world that ought to be; artists, creative catalysts, pastors, business people and many others, sharing a vision for culture that will not only change where we will be in 10 years, but in five centuries.
