The most significant challenge for an emerging artist today is making the art itself: finding the time, support, and discipline to create a meaningful body of work, despite the demands of daily life. IAM’s Working Artists Initiative is designed to foster the discipline that will establish participants as working artists, deepen their thinking, connect them with peers, and help them create work that their fields recognize as a significant contribution.
Participants in this year’s pilot program included Albert Kim, (http://www.albertkim.com/), Beth Adams, (http://anneandmay.com/), Carey Wallace (www.careywallace.com), Daniel Nayeri (http://www.danielanddina.com/), Jason Harrod, (www.jasonharrod.com), and Wayne Adams (www.waynestead.com).
The 2010 Fellows will present their work on Friday night at IAM’s Space 38|39 at 8pm.
